A transformative journey into the world of theatre — designed for beginners and passionate storytellers alike.

This intensive weekend programme is conducted in association with Asmita Theatre Group, one of India's most celebrated theatre companies. Over four months, participants are introduced to the fundamentals of acting, stagecraft, voice, movement, and the rich traditions of theatre-making — culminating in a final public performance.

Course Curriculum

The programme is structured across four progressive phases, each building on the last — from basic physical awareness to full-scale public performance.

Phase 01 · Sessions 1–8

Body & Awareness

Month 1 · 8 Sessions

  • Physical warm-up and body awareness exercises
  • Breath control and basic voice production
  • Introduction to space and stage geography
  • Trust exercises and ensemble building
  • Observation and sensory exercises
  • Introduction to Stanislavski method

Phase 02 · Sessions 9–16

Acting Fundamentals

Month 2 · 8 Sessions

  • Emotional memory and imagination techniques
  • Character analysis and objective-setting
  • Improvisation and spontaneous response
  • Dialogue delivery and listening on stage
  • Monologue preparation (classic & contemporary)
  • Introduction to scene study

Phase 03 · Sessions 17–24

Scene Work & Direction

Month 3 · 8 Sessions

  • Two-person and group scene rehearsals
  • Introduction to theatrical direction basics
  • Voice projection and diction on stage
  • Movement, blocking and stage composition
  • Costume, props and production awareness
  • Feedback sessions and peer critique

Phase 04 · Sessions 25–31

Production Rehearsals

Month 4 · 7 Rehearsals

  • Full-length play script reading & breakdown
  • Role assignment and character workshops
  • Technical rehearsals — lights, sound, set
  • Dress rehearsals with production team
  • Stage management & audience awareness
  • Mentorship from Asmita Theatre faculty

Session 32 — Final Public Performance

The course concludes with a fully staged public performance at an Asmita Theatre Group venue. Participants perform before a live audience with professional lighting, sound, and direction — a defining moment in every student's theatrical journey. Certificates of completion are awarded at the close of the performance.
